Nowegian Horn

Norwegian Horn we call them, and they are very good for breakfast with just butter and jam if you like.

But they are also super as an accompaniment to a good soup or a green salad

You may want to double the recipe so you can add some extra in the freezer for unexpected guests -

they do not need more than a few minutes on the bench before putting them in the oven on medium heat and you have hot and freshly horn to serv your guests !

What you need :

50 g real butter
5 ½ dl milk 3.5% fat
25 g fresh yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tsp salt
1 kg flour (approximately)

To glaze :

1 egg
8 tablespoons poppy seeds or sesame seeds to sprinkle

What to do :

Melt the butter in a saucepan and pour in the milk. Allow the mixture to be finger warm, about 37 ° C.

Crumble the yeast into a mixing bowl, pour over a little dough liquid and stir so that the yeast dissolves.

Remember that it is better that the dough is too cold than too warm. The yeast can not tolerate excessive heat, then it will die.
Knead the sugar, salt and most of the flour either by hand or in food processor.

Do not take in all the flour at once, knead into little by little, until you get a dough that is smooth and supple but do not stick to the bowl.

Cover the dough with plastic or a clean kjøkkenhånkle and set to rise in a warm place for about 40 minutes.

Sprinkle a little flour over the table and take the dough out of the bowl. Divide dough into 2, and roll each part into flat cakes.

Suppose you reelings a large pizza. The dough, which is now flat and round like a pizza, divided into 6-8 "pizza slices".

Take a "pizza slice" as you roll from the wide end and toward the tip.

When you put the horns on a baking sheet with parchment paper, flex them slightly so that they get a small turning on themselves.

It's no big deal if they do not look completely perfect out.

Cover them with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and set them to rise in a warm place. Horns should be twice as large.

When the horns are finished raised, whips you along an egg and brush horns gently.

Sprinkle with poppy seeds. If you do not like it, leave it be. Bake the horns in the center of the oven at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.

Let them cool on a rack
